Claimant Rate Unemployment fell again in Acocks Green in July. The unadjusted figure fell to 1,091 or 9.7%. It now stands 87 (or 0.8%) below the level a year ago. The number of long term unemployed in our patch now stands at 368 (down 11 on the month) and the number of youth claimants at 310 (down 1 on the month).

The national, seasonally adjusted, claimant count level dropped by 37,400 in July to stand at 1,441,500. In Birmingham the seasonally adjusted level fell by 539 to 47,049 and the rate fell from 10.5% to 10.3%
