Amey are finally resurfacing Shaftmoor Lane between Cateswell Road and Olton Boulevard East – following the previous false start.

Its great news that the work is finally being done, but initially there were major safety issues with the poor signage for the work. Councillor Iain Bowen witnessed cars, which had ‘stumbled across’ the work making dangerous manoeuvres in the road to avoid them.

Iain quickly fired off and email to Amey expressing his concerns. They quickly visited the site and improved the signage so that drivers would be fully aware of the work at all approaches.They also agreed to keep a close eye on the site and put right any signs or barriers, if they end up out of place for any reason.
