Liberal Democrat Councillor working for Acocks Green Learn more

Following the plans to redevelop the old Lucas site on Spring Road (with a Morrison’s supermarket, an Extra Care Village and new housing), another set of plans has now been published. These would replace the current Eaton Electical factory site (off Reddings Lane and running beside part of Olton Boulevard West) with a retail park, containing a large Asda supermarket and some other retail units. Under these proposals Eaton would build a new (much smaller) factory on the old Lucas / Yuasa battery factory site off Formans Road. There would also be a small amount of new housing built.
These plans (as with the Spring Road plans) have not been submitted to the Council as formal planning applications as the developers (Mucklow and Helical Retail) are still working up the detail. As part of this the developers are putting on a public consultation about the plans, at St Edmund’s Church, Reddings Lane (opposite the TDCA Centre) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week (6-8 October). More details can be found on the developers’ flyer: Tyseley Regen Consultation Mtgs Oct11
