The roadworks in Acocks Green Village as Cadent renew the gas mains, will not now be finished on the 10th July as originally planned, but are likely to overrun to 24th July.

This is particularly disappointing as businesses in the Village attempt to rebuild trade as lockdown restrictions are eased. While it made sense to arrange such disruptive work when traffic was lower in lockdown, these delays are undoing the benefit this brought.

There will be a new Traffic Management layout on site from tomorrow, which we are promised should improve traffic flow. There will also be additional advance notice signage to inform drivers of the road works. This will hopefully reduce the number of drivers doing 3 point turns on the Warwick Road. The contractor will also be asked to provide daily updates to the Council from now onwards, so that if there are any further issues they can be dealt with promptly.
